About the Area Agency on Aging

SCADC was designated as an Area Agency on Aging in 1976 under the Older Americans Act of 1965, as Amended. The Agency on Aging is responsible for advocacy, planning and provision of supportive services, nutrition services, and where appropriate, the establishment, maintenance or construction of multi-purpose senior centers. In addition, we administer a variety of home and community-based services for older adults, caregivers and persons with disabilities. The provision of most services is delivered under local service contracts.

Our Mission:

To foster the development of a comprehensive and coordinated service delivery system that will address the optimum needs of older adults and their families and will allow older individuals to maintain independence with dignity in their own homes and communities for as long as possible.
